The International Bar Association in partnership with the Dubai International Finance Center (FIFC) opened its first
Middle East office in Dubai consisting of Hassan Arab as president, Hoda Barakat, Abdul Aziz Al Fahad, Walid Nasser,
Micheal Sciender, Dr. Tarek Riad as advisory board members, Rany Sader (Lebanon), Said Al Shahry (Oman), Dr. Sadir
Al Kherdaji (Syria) , Sultan Mubarak Al Abdulla (Qatar), Amani Ejami (Sudan), Ala Khalifeh (Jordan), Nabiha Zerigui
(Algeria), Bader Saoudi Al Bader (Kuwait), Ali Al Aidarous (Dubai), Fadi Khardous (Syria) as officers.
Fernando Pombo, IBA president spoke of the occasion and considered this event a basic step to better respond to the needs of the IBA members in the Middle East.
Nasser Al Shaali, CEO of DIFC confirmed his support of IBA saying: we are committed to offering a hub of business excellence
and the establishment of the IBA within DIFC is in line with this strategy.

Mark Ellis, IBA executive director and Faten Hani CEO of DIFC education center both stated that a large
amount of research was conducted before taking this step considering the major investment made for it.
Hassan Arab, Partner and Head of the litigation practice in Al Tamimi & Company, and who was named as Chair of the
Arab Regional Forum, considered that this office will position IBA among the leaders of the Dubai business community.
He also declared that a large interest is provided to strengthen commercial ties and expanding business relationships
in the Middle East.
Attorney Rany SADER (member of the board of the Arab Regional Forum of the IBA) was present during this event.
