In an interview on OTV: SADER highlighted the importance of severe judgments on those dealing with counterfeit drugs

  On October 26, 2008, Rany SADER participated in a live talk show (Fi Al Taffassil) on OTV on counterfeit drugs. Participants were: PM Soukarrieh, Former President of the Pharmacists Union Dr. Ziad Nassour, Colonel Walid HABER from the Lebanese Customs. The Minister of Public Health Dr. Jawad KHALIFEH and the President of the Union of drugs importers in Lebanon participated by phone.

  During this talk show, our managing partner Rany SADER gave an overview of the magnitude of the problem of counterfeit drugs and its severe repercussions on both the Public Health and the environment. He mentioned that several pharmacists were prosecuted lately for selling counterfeit drugs in their pharmacies and his hope of seeing severe punishments against those dealing with “people’s lives”.

  He emphasized on the importance of putting every effort to combat such problem. SADER also urged the Minister of Health and the Union of Pharmacists to stop the Door to Door selling of drugs, a service yet not controlled. SADER also accentuated on the importance of having some laws amended in a way to consider dealing with counterfeit drugs and other consumable products as homicide
