Sader interviewed on the Protection of Intellectual Property rights

  During an interview with 'Sada al Balad'(Al Balad Newspaper) on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, Attorney Rany Sader, legal consultant of the Lebanese Intellectual Property Organization (LIPA), defined the term ' Author's Right' and shed light on the relation between the latter and 'Neighboring Rights', as well as the difference between the two terms.

  Sader then explained the Rights of both the creators of the protected works and the successors to these works. He also commented on the efforts of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in setting new rules and policies to protect Author's Rights in Electronic space (Internet), and supervising the treaties related to vocal recording and performance, amongst which are two 'internet treaties' that aim to prevent infringement and usage of creative works on the internet without permission.Sader ended by discussing the system governing Author's Rights and Neighboring Rights and the non-obligatory registration of these Rights.The complete interview can be found in Arabic on:
